In a perfect central location, this elegant little trawler is moored on the Seine between the Pont de la Concorde and the magnificent Pont Alexandre III, the most beautiful bridge in Paris. The 38 foot-long, 14-foot-wide, is docked in the Port des Champs Elysées.
It is within walking distance of the Jardin des Tuileries, the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Place de la Concorde and of course the Champs Elysées.
Crossing over the Pont Alexandre III you face the Hotel des Invalides on the left bank of the Seine. Facing the Pont de la Concorde the l’Assemblée Nationale ( Palais Bourbon) where starts the famous Boulevard St Germain that leads you into a famous and wonderful neighbourhood of the old Paris (full of good boutiques of all kinds, good restaurants and brasseries and much more....) !
From Neilali, looking towards the left bank on the left is l’Assemblée Nationale (House of Representatives) next to it on the right side is the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Five minutes walk and you reach the Grand Palais. Built in 1897-1900 for the Universal Exposition in Paris, the Grand Palais was originally, as the inscription on the fronton proclaims, \"a monument raised by the Republic to the glory of French art\". In 1964, André Malraux, then the minister of culture, asked Reynolds Arnould to convert part of the palace into galleries for temporary international exhibitions. The first show, on art of black African countries, was held from June to August 1966.The galleries are attached to the Ministry of Culture, under the responsibility of the French Museums Department. Since 1966, they have hosted over 250 exhibitions, most of them organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, and are now established as France’s most important venue for international exhibitions and one of the most important in the world. And back in 2006 in the Grand Palais “La Biennale des Antiquaires” shows master pieces of art.
Facing the Grand Palais is the Petit Palais, also built for the Universal Exposition of 1900. The Petit Palais offers, within the framework of a collection which remains on a human scale, an artistic panorama from antiquity to the Twentieth Century, including ancient and medieval collections and invaluable examples of the art of the French and Italian Renaissance. The exhibits of international reputation which are regularly presented there make some, in addition, a major place of the artistic life.
The deck of the boat, made of teak, is equipped with wooden table and deckchairs so you can look at the passing boats, and admire the views of the bridges. It is especially magical to eat outside on a warm summer night and watch the Eiffel Tower which is illuminated as dusk falls.
