This small, cozy and charming duplex studio is situated on the Ile Saint Louis.  The sophisticated Ile St. Louis, in the heart of Paris with its 17th and 18th century hôtel particuliers and classical buildings, remains the unmatched quartier of Paris due to its elegance and charming ambiance. French luminaries such as Georges Pompidou, Charles Beaudelaire, Paul Cézanne, Voltaire and Camille Claudel, amongst others, chose to live here. The island affords a unique view of Paris including Nôtre Dame, l’Hôtel de Ville, the Panthéon and the Eglise Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais. The island is surrounded by a tree-lined cobblestone embankment where you can stroll and immerse yourself in the inspiring beauty of the scenery. Here you will find La Crémerie (one of the finest specialist cheese shops of France with more than 200 varieties of cheese), the boucherie Jean Paul Gardil selling fresh foie gras and a selection of prize winning meat and game, an excellent fruit and vegetable shop, fine patissiers/boulangers (pastry and bread shops) and the famous Maison Berthillon, the long-time Parisian favourite for ice-cream and sorbets. Trendy restaurants abound in the neighborhood along with antique shops, markets, bakeries, fromageries, and cafés. One can easily access the other famous Parisian island, Ile de La Cité across the Pont St. Louis. Here you can explore Paris’ Mediaeval roots including Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, and Gallo-Roman ruins in the Crypte Archéologique. Ile Saint Louis is also very near to the Latin Quarter, Le Marais, Le Louvre, Centre Pompidou, and Le Jardin des Plantes.

The 16th century building has a lovely entrance showing its original stonework and wooden beams opening onto a nice, bright courtyard. This first American floor, compact two level apartment with original beamed ceilings, features a living room with two windows on the courtyard, with a sofabed, table and chairs, and a small kitchenette on one wall which can be concealed from the living area. The kitchenette is equipped with a two electric burner cook top, a small electrical oven, and refrigerator. The staircase leads to the bedroom and bathroom which also overlook the quiet courtyard.
